RightNow Conference 09 - SynopsisThursday, November 5, 2009 - Saturday, November 7, 2009
Dallas, TX |

Wow! The RightNow Conference 2009 was an awesome event! We are so thankful for all that God did and is doing and are continuing to pray for God to make a bunch of traders out of our generation! The mission statement for our ministry is to help people trade in the pursuit of the American Dream for a world that desperately needs Christ. The key is the word pursuit. What are we pursuing? Culture has hijacked the idea of the American Dream and turned it from opportunity and potential to consumerism and me-ism. Tragically that consumer mindset is creeping into the church. We believe that God is calling us as leaders of the church to become trader-makers. How can we teach, inspire and model the pursuit of Christ and His kingdom over the American dream of more, bigger and faster? We believe that the answer lies in trading in that pursuit for a world that desperately needs Christ. We are calling our generation to become traders and to use our time, passions, and skills to proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord. A trader is a new kind of missionary – not defined by geography – but by willingness to live out the parable of the Good Samaritan and to go and do likewise! Are you a Trader? Along with really focusing on the idea of becoming Traders, we decided to do away with the names LeadNow and Fusion and just simply call our event The RightNow Conference. We felt that too many names creates confusion and we wanted to take things back to our roots. Our conference – and our ministry is called The RightNow Campaign because we believe there are opportunities right now for people to put their faith into action. To wait is a sin. The RightNow Conference focused on creating Traders and Trader makers. And a little over 18 months ago we had an “A Ha” moment at The Rightnow Campaign where we realized that small groups were the best vehicle to mobilize these traders. That’s why we created SmallGroupTrader.Com. We were able to use everything we have learned through SmallGroupTrader.Com at the event even having our editorial team lead 10 different small group breakouts. One of the things we have always done is offer tangible opportunities for people to get involved on the spot. This year’s conference was no different. We had over 30 mission agencies in our Trader Village helping people respond to the Trader message. And we built 1,000 Caregiver kits thru World Vision and had 199 children sponsored from Compassion International! Once again, God blessed us with some amazing speakers! And for the first time in our event history, you can actually get the event experience in a box thru our RightNow Leadership Development Kit. Actually, to call it an event in a box would be a bit of an insult to our Product Development Team because of the hours of work and creativity that has gone into this project. Imagine the absolute best talks of the event combined with thought-provoking discussion questions, behind the scenes interviews with our speakers, highly produced illustrations, and real-life stories that go along with the messages and you’ll be getting closer to what the RightNow Leadership Development Kit actually is. Our Producers have literally thought of everything in creating this kit! We imagine churches using this in their leadership and or elder meetings and then passing the training on to other ministries within the church. The great thing about the kit is that it is designed to dive into both church strategy and individual application. Check out more here!
